EMIT Data Consulting

The story

Built to fill a gap.

EMIT started because the gap was obvious. Founders needed data dashboards. NGOs needed survey tools. Businesses needed websites. The vendors available were either overpriced, underqualified, or both.

Victor Mutugi and Mercy Njoki built EMIT to close that gap. One studio. Data and web work under the same roof. The same standard of care for a dashboard as for a storefront.

The goal by 2031 is straightforward: 100 clients served, a recognized brand across East Africa, and a body of work that speaks for itself.

Who we serve

Four types of client.

Founders

Early-stage founders who need a site, a dashboard, or both. Usually on a real budget with a real deadline.

NGOs

Organizations running programs that need proper data collection, analysis, and reporting for funders.

Businesses

Established businesses that need a working online presence or better internal data visibility.

Researchers

Academic and independent researchers who need field tools, data management, or analysis support.

What we stand for

Four values, held to account.

Evidence-Driven

Decisions follow data. Every recommendation we make is grounded in what the evidence shows, not what sounds right.

Meticulous

The details matter. Clean data. Correct code. Accurate reports. Work that holds up under scrutiny.

Transparent

Clear scope, clear pricing, clear timelines. No vague estimates. No hidden fees. Everything in writing.

Accountable

We own what we deliver. If something is wrong, we fix it. The 30-day support window is not a formality.

The team

Two co-founders.

Victor Mutugi

Co-founder, Operating Lead

Victor leads all data and web engagements at EMIT. He scopes the work, manages delivery, and writes most of the code and queries that ship to clients. His background spans data analysis, survey design, and full-stack web development. He built the first version of Sylvia's Basket from brief to launch in three weeks.

Mercy Njoki

Co-founder, Researcher

Mercy leads EMIT's research work. She brings rigour to survey design, data collection methodology, and qualitative analysis. Her experience spans field research, stakeholder engagement, and knowledge translation. She is the reason EMIT's research outputs hold up when the funder reviews them.
